The Physiological Society recognises the need to support training in the in vivo sciences. Funding is available now for Ordinary Members who wish to provide final year undergraduate students with the opportunity to complete an in vivo research project in the 2011/12 academic year. Funding will cover training for students and the cost of a personal Home Office Licence.

Successful applicants will be expected to submit the following information by 30 April 2012:
Eligibility
- Project supervisor (applicant) must be an Ordinary Member of The Society
- The organisation must have a Society Representative
- The research proposal will require the student utilises skills regulated by the Home Office personal licence
- The research proposal must be physiological in nature and the need for the in vivo skills must clearly be driven by the scientific problem
As part of your application, you will be asked to provide the following information
- Supervisor’s name and organisation
- Name of Society Representative at organisation
- Summary of supervisor’s research interests (300 words)
- Summary of project proposal (300 words)
- Structure of proposal
- Summary of skills student will acquire
- Training plans
- Level of competency expected of student at end of project
- Breakdown of cost

- A report from the supervisor summarising the in vivo skills developed by the student (max 500 words)
- A report from the student summarising their experience in terms of the project and skills gained (max 500 words)
